Pig farmers unhappy after Glanbia’s 4c per kg price cut

PIG farmers were unhappy with Glanbia’s 4c per kg price cut, which the processor said was forced by poor trading conditions.

It left prices in the 128 to 138 cent per kg range at export plants, according to IFA. The welfare bonus stays at 2 cent.

The pork slaughtering price range is still 132 to 138 cent. Other IFA market estimates are also unchanged, 32 kg weaners at €52 to 56, sow prices back at €20 to 26 per cwt liveweight.
