BUYING a wooded valley in a beach-side location doesn’t come cheap — but what a site you get, for €750,000 plus.

Twelve and a half acres at Upper Fountainstown, Minane Bridge, Co Cork, is on the market with auctioneer Jim O’Brien of CCM Bandon, and it’s a dream buy for house builders.

It doesn’t come with planning permission, but the sale will be subject to that, says Mr O’Brien, so it might be worth the punt, considering its proximity to Cork city.
