Much to be done to improve situation for dairy farmers

THE dairy industry cannot rest on its laurels and celebrate their recent milk price rises.

Preparation must continue for the next round of downward price pressure on dairy product markets, although hopefully that will not recur for some time.

Where high operational costs for dairy processing and marketing continue to rise annually, directors of co-ops have an obligation to their fellow farmers to pursue delivery of greater efficiency.
