Export market lift worth up to 9c

IMPROVEMENT in lamb prices has been maintained, with quoted prices at the factories showing further gains of up to 9 cents/kg (3p/lb) this week.

The trend is mirroring improvements in Britain and France, where an increase of up to 30 cents/kg has been achieved over the past week.

Here, base quotes at the factories edged closer to the benchmark of 400 cents/kg (143p/lb), now ranging from 392 to 395 cents/kg (140p or 141p/lb) with the usual bonus payments of 6 cents/kg applying for quality at all the plants.
