THE Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has been very much to the fore in warning and advising consumers since its formation.

Whether warning about the risk of under-cooked food at barbecues, or food hygiene standards, well presented messages have been the hallmark of the organisation.

From the farmer perspective some of the FSAI’s good image has been tarnished by what appears to the ordinary man on the land as a lack of commitment to new regulations on country of origin food labelling.
