Group water schemes get funding increase

IMPROVING private source group water schemes will get priority in a €142 million rural water spending plan in 2007.

Spending will surpass 2006 by 9%, said Environment Minister Dick Roche.

Many private source group schemes do not meet mandatory drinking water standards, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
