Farming not the gold mine discovered in National Survey

THERE is an additional table which Teagasc could usefully append to their annual National Farm Survey.

Costs and returns in farming could be compared from year to year in a simple format, to provide a more realistic measure of the fortunes to be made or lost in agriculture.

It would be far less divisive than the headline reports of the 2005 survey, stating that there was a massive income increase for the farming sector in 2005.
