Lamb price dips under €4 per kg

ANOTHER bad week for lamb producers has brought prices below 400 cents/kg for the first time this season, after a further price cut of as much as 8 cents/kg (3p/lb) at the factories.

Base price quotes ranged from 397 back to 395 cents/kg (142p to 141p/lb) on Monday, and again at most of the factories Tuesday.

Weekly throughput at the factories is down on last year and back by over 6% year to date.
