From ‘till death do us part’ to ‘farm owner till death’

AS the bond of marriage becomes less secure, transferring farms to the next generation becomes problematic.

It brings heartbreak for any father or mother to realise that the marriage of a son or daughter has not worked out as they had hoped for on the wedding day.

It is even more devastating for the parents if they have toiled for decades developing a farm which has to be sold as part of a divorce settlement.
