Even pig farms feel the pinch

REAL proof that farmers are in trouble came last week from the pig farming sector.

It didn’t get much of a mention when IFA leader Padraig Walshe warned during the week that the fast pace of change in CAP reform, and the impact of globalisation are immense and immediate challenges.

But then, one of the problems plaguing the few hundred large scale pig farmers in the country is that they lack political clout in the farm organisations, and nationally.
