Average pig price in Ireland trails EU-25 by 7 cent per kg

IFA said prices range from 138 to 145 cent/kg, with strong demand keeping spot prices up to 145 cent, attributed to the low supply level, which is 26,000 behind last year’s pig supply for the first four months.

Export plants mostly quote 138 cent to 143 cent net, with 6c extra for welfare pigs.
