Meat forum to host 200 beef buyers

More than 200 major beef buyers from throughout the EU with a combined buying power of over €4 billion annually will attend the Bord Bia European Meat Forum in Dublin on May 25 and 26.

The forum is part of a major drive to build increased market share in the enlarged EU market- place, as Ireland continues to build on the scope of market outlets in the EU.

The percentage of Irish beef exported to EU markets has increased steadily from 38% in 1996 to 81% last year.
