GIANT co-op Dairygold came in for some stinging criticism yesterday after it went ahead with its controversial plan to relocate staff to Cork Airport Business Park.

A number of Cork county councillors attacked the move, which saw 40 of the company’s office staff relocate from Mitchelstown and Mallow to the former JetMagic airline offices.

Cllr Noel O’Connor (FG) claimed Dairygold “had gone against the spirit” of council planning laws, regardless of a warning issued by the High Court last Friday that if the company proceeded it might not help matters, which are to be ruled on January 24.
