SCC and mastitis are on the rise on many farms

COWS are generally milking well, 4 to 5 gals/cow on well managed farms.

In Moorepark, medium merit cows were milking 4 gallons without supplementation and 4.8 gallons with supplementation on excellent grass at the end of August.

It is too early to make a judgement on fertility, but early indications are that there is little change in infertility problems.
