Wednesday’s base price quotes, ranging 400-392 cents/kg (145p-142p/lb) were maintained at the processors yesterday and some producers were trying to recover some of the earlier drop in direct deals with the factories.

The trade opened steadily on Monday, retaining the improvement of the previous week at a base price range of 409-400 cents/kg (146p-143p/lb), but within 24 hours slipped back by 9 cents/kg (3p/lb) after the pressure eased on the balance between supply and demand at the factories.
