Prices stable at resumption of marts

Most of the marts have resumed live sales this week - some will not reopen until the end of the month - but the numbers on offer have not recovered to the pre-holiday scale, with sales expected to increase in the coming weeks.

Forward bullocks sold for up to €240 over €/kg at Kanturk yesterday with the light stores selling at €140-€200 over. Beef heifers made €100-€170 over, medium weight stores ranged from €100-€130 over and light stores made €70-€100 over.
