Up to now, no time frame was given for the proposals to raise tariffs and set quotas, but Vasili Shapochkin, a department head at Russia's Agriculture Ministry, said it is proposed for next year.

The world beef industry expects increased import demand from Russia next year, so the proposals to raise tariffs on beef to 25% from 15% may be premature.
