Ireland: A €1.2 million campaign to increase consumption of fruit and vegetables will be conducted in up to 150 Irish primary schools over the next three years.

Minister of State Brendan Smith said the programme will be introduced into the first schools in the autumn.

He said the campaign was timely given the recent publication of a scientific study which found Irish children had a low intake of fruit and vegetables.
