The Irish Farmers Association (IFA) has warned the country's co-ops that farmers cannot afford to take any milk price cuts next year.

Dairy Committee chairman Michael Murphy said dairy farmers are demanding that their co-ops come clean on their processing costs.

“They must undertake a root and branch elimination of their excessive costs and co-operate to take out unnecessary duplication,” he said.
