ICSA calls for increased grant costings

ICSA president Malcolm Thompson has called on the Department of Agriculture to increase its costings for grant purposes on farm buildings in order to reflect the recent price hike in the cost of steel.

He said steel used in the building of slatted tanks and farmyard sheds has gone up in price by over 50% in recent months.

This is not being reflected in the department’s standard costs, used to calculate grant aid under the farm waste management grants.
