FARMERS could save lives if they devote five or 10 minutes a day spotting and sorting safety issues on their property, according to the Health and Safety Authority (HSA).

It has begun its annual farm safety drive, which will run during April with inspectors carrying out 500 proactive farm inspections and other activities.

Already this year four people have died on farms. Last year, 18 died.
