The prices paid for land and for calves and store cattle so far this year indicate continuing mismanagement, he said, when advising on farm business in the Todays Farm magazine which is sent to Teagasc client farmers.

“Advisers tell me that the single farm payment has already been wagered for 2005 on expected cattle prices in 2006 and 2007, and on grain prices this autumn, let’s hope the odds were good,” said Dr Kelly.
