It has been a relatively good week for sheep farmers, with recent gains in prices at the factories maintained, although the trade eased in Britain and France over the past week.

Processors all quoted a base of 336 cents/kg (120p/lb) for the opening of the week’s trade on Monday, and again on Tuesday.

In the marts, numbers on offer were strong, and while the trade remained steady for the best quality, others were back in price by €2 or €3/head at the sales on Monday.
