Kill is back 25%

A TIGHTENING cattle supply continues to deliver strengthening prices to farmers this week.

There has been a dramatic fall off in the supply of beef cattle to processing centres over the past fortnight, allowing farmers to regain the driving seat on prices, which continue to harden.

In general, prices officially quoted for cattle by processors have not changed, but the gap between what the factories quote and what is actually being paid to get cattle has continued to widen.
