Glanbia medals prove it’s the big cheese

The gold award in the medium cheddar category and bronze in the extra mature cheddar category came in competition with a record entry of 1,660 cheeses from more countries than in any other competition.

Glanbia Consumer Foods CEO Pat Brophy said: “We take enormous pride in using age-old cheese making skills to carefully craft locally-sourced summer milk into a perfectly matured cheese to produce the unmistakable taste that is Kilmeaden cheese.”

The event was held in London last month and the competition’s top accolade of World Champion Cheese was awarded to the Swiss-produced Le Gruyère AOC Premier Cru, for the third year.
