A small number of farmers are still prepared to use banned growth promoters in animals destined for the food chain, according to a report released yesterday.

The Department of Agriculture and Food has bluntly warned these people will face the full rigours of the law if found to be in breach of it.

The Department’s release of the 2001 national residue monitoring plan results revealed the overall levels of residues were low.
