IFA wants farmer borrowings at 4%

Farmer borrowings should not be charged interest at greater than 4%, according to the IFA National Farm Business Committee.

Chairman Eddie Downey said there is no justification for exorbitant levels of interest charges on farmer borrowings.

These do not reflect the true cost of funds to banks and are undermining the competitiveness and profitability of farm enterprises.
