THE average stock bull will cost you €90 per daughter born to it, compared to the best AI bulls, dairy farmers have been advised by Teagasc.

The industry can ill afford such mistakes, says Dermot McCarthy, Teagasc's Chief Dairy Advisor.

"One bad breeding decision can undo, in one generation, the benefits of five generations of good breeding," he has advised.
