Contracts could be next big thing

NEWS of more farm-to-farm trading of grain shows that Irish landowners are thinking on their feet as they adapt to the EU’s decoupled agriculture.

It’s a whole new ball game, as the annual cheque from Brussels is now assured, and the farming activity must stand alone.

The Single Payment will arrive - hopefully in time for the Christmas shopping - whether the cattle and the crops are losing money or making money.
