A CRACKDOWN on ragwort is on the way after it spread rapidly last year.
Farmers call for more ragwort control

Farmers reported a huge increase in the yellow-headed weed that has the potential to kill horses and other livestock through poisoning.

They claimed there was a breakdown in the mechanism to enforce the Noxious Weeds Act which resulted in the spread of the weed to farm land from construction and wasteland areas.
