Dramatic falls in TB incidence since 1950s

TB IS the other cattle disease on which billions have been spent in Ireland’s eradication programme since the 1950s.

Progress has been similar to the fight against brucellosis. The incidence of TB in cattle has fallen from original infection levels of 80% of cattle herds and 17% of animals to its current level of about one half of 1% of all animals in recent years.
