Average land price up

The average price was €18,442 (€7,463 per acre) in 170 farm land transactions, averaging 25 acres, from October to December, 2004, according to the Central Statistics Office.

This was 24.8% above the CSO average for fourth quarter of 2003, and 26.2% above the third quarter of 2004.

Preliminary annual figures for 2004 indicate that the average price paid was €16,156 (€6,538 per acre), 12.3% ahead of 2003.
