Gradual recovery in prices offered for lambs
The fall off in supplies to the factories as producers held back on deliveries following the landslide during the second half of last week led to a scarcity of lambs at the factories to meet orders and a gradual recovery which has been taking place through this week.
Prices last weekend, which had fallen to 313 cents/kg (112p/lb) and some reports of lambs being sold for 307 cents/kg (110p/lb), will be returning an improvement of 15-22 cents/kg (6p-8p/lb) in the prices being offered for today's kill.
