Last census date announced

Agriculture Minister Mary Coughlan has announced that the fifth census date for establishing stocking rate in the 2004 Extensification Premium scheme was Sunday, November 7.

Stocking density will be based on the average number of bovines over six months on holdings at five randomly selected census dates in 2004.

Cattle Movement Monitoring System herd profiles will be posted to farmers showing tag numbers and date of birth of each bovine on their holdings on November 7. Farmers should check these against their Herd Registers.
