THE ICMSA has decided it cannot resume negotiations on or be part of a national agreement unless the Government takes action on a number of key issues.

The association wants a comprehensive study of farm incomes, containing recommendations to bring about an immediate and permanent increase, with an interim report to be published before the end of March 2003.

An assurance that there will be no additional cost placed on farming during the period of any new national agreement, including a reversal of Government proposals to increase diseases levy, is also being sought.
