Christmas trees ‘good for business’

Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture and Food, John Browne, has stressed the importance of the Irish Christmas tree market.

Close to one million Christmas trees are grown in Ireland each year, of which approximately 500,000 are exported.

Britain is the main export market for Irish trees but Irish trees are also sold in France, Holland, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland.
