Leading co-ops deny merger talks

TWO leading co-ops have denied they are engaged in merger talks.

Lakeland Dairies and Connacht Gold have separately explained that the groups are involved in ongoing discussions.

But they stressed that these are with a view to reducing production costs for both sides in the interest of the milk suppliers involved and are not merger talks.
