Cutbacks could see 25 Teagasc offices close, claims O’Keeffe

A FORMER Minister of State, Ned O’Keeffe TD, claimed yesterday that up to 25 Teagasc offices are to be closed because of funding cutbacks.

Teagasc provides integrated research, advisory and training services to the agriculture and food industry and rural communities.

It employs over 1,500 research scientists, advisers, teachers and other staff in 120 locations around the country.
