No need to dive into CAP

IRELAND should postpone decoupling until 2007, as permitted in the CAP Reform agreement of two weeks ago.

The agreement is very unsettling for farmers, as the CAP turns the corner into a new era.

But it at least ended a year of uncertainty, which started when EU Agriculture Commissioner Franz Fischler first proposed to radically change the support system for farmers.
