Mixed messages from Walsh and Cullen about reducing farm costs

AGRICULTURE Minister Joe Walsh has repeatedly told farmers in recent months that they must be more efficient and cost conscious.

Tighten your belt on costs, the squeeze is on. That is the message to farmers from the state advisory agency, Teagasc.

The advice is the same from dairy and meat processors.
