Export plant quotes vary from 42 to 50 cent per lb gross collected at 54% lean meat (base price). Flat rate quotes are mostly 118 to 122 cent per kg nett.
Steady demand for pork has plants quoting 120 to 127 cent per kg. Weaners are at 41 to 43 per kg (£32 to 34 for 32 kg). Sows are a steady trade, from €18 to 22 per cwt. Slaughterings for the week ended June 15 were 52,364 pigs and 1,530 sows. The Irish average pigmeat price for the week was 119 cent per kg, compared to an EU pigmeat average price of 125 cent per kg.
