No change in lamb prices

AN improvement for lamb on the continent and tight supplies to market has resulted in the stabilising of prices over the past week, with little or no change in the base prices.
No change in lamb prices

The base prices at the factories is ranging over a narrow spread of 358-353 cents/kg (128p-126p/lb) this week, which is very similar to the pattern over the past week.

The weekly kill at the factories is hovering around the 56,000- 60,000 head mark, over 20% down on the corresponding weeks in 2002. The fall off is helping to maintain the price, with an improved demand from the continent.
