Demand poor for weaners

PIG prices are unchanged, at €1.28 to €1.39 at most processing plants, according to IFA. They report export plant quotes of €1.27 to €1.33 at Glanbia and €1.36 to €1.38 at Dawn, and pork slaughter quotes of €1.34 to €1.38.

Weaner prices are €43 to €46 for 32 kg, with demand “poor”. IFA reports a steady sow trade, at €28 to €30/cwt liveweight, or 85 to 94c/kg. Slaughterings for the week ending November 26 totalled 55,274 pigs and 1,666 sows. Average prices were €1.33/kg in Ireland, €1.37 in the EU 25.
