Good news for 10,000 farms

THE good news last week was that 10,000 full-time farmers will still be left in Ireland by 2025!

This was a very ambitious bit of crystal ball gazing by an expert group put together by Teagasc, looking 20 years ahead.

Their prognosis was greeted with shock and horror in some circles. However, farmers might settle for their gloomy predictions of how many will survive.
