GOOD progress continues to be made on processing single payment scheme applications, according to Agriculture Minister Mary Coughlan.

She said she was confident the major part of the €1.26 billion single payment for 2005 would be issued to farmers in December.

Payments will commence on December 1 in processed cases, with further payments still being made throughout that month as the department deals with responses to queries it has raised on individual applications.
