Lamb prices up

THE improvement in lamb prices at the factories during last week was fully maintained in the opening quotes for this week, when slaughtering resumed on Tuesday.

The week opened with base prices ranging 342-331 cents/kg (122p-118p/lb) with some of the factories showing an increase of up to 4 cents/kg (1.5p/lb) and the remainder at similar to last week’s opening prices.

In the marts on Monday the trade varied between steady and slightly easier with large supplies on offer at a number of the sales on the Bank Holiday.
