Farmers warned of liver fluke threat

LIVER FLUKE will pose a significant threat to cattle and sheep in certain regions this winter, Minister of State John Browne warned yesterday.

This is due to high rainfall during late summer and early autumn having created suitable conditions for the spread of the disease in the west, mid-west, north-west and south-west.

Mr Browne urged farmers in risk areas to treat sheep immediately.
