Marts: Lamb prices were steady in the marts yesterday with the impact of the fall in prices at the factories earlier in the week not coming through in the sales rings.

There was a good entry at Bandon Mart yesterday where the trade for the butcher’s lambs improved on last week, with prices up by €2/head and trading was described as firm.

The butcher’s lambs sold from €30 over €/kg to €40 over. A lot of two 48kg lambs sold for €87/head, a lot of 10 weighing 46kg sold for €78/head, and a three weighing 53kg made €88/head.
