IRISH Farmers’ Association at national level has been asked to address farmers’ complaints about the increasing cost of water supplies.

Water for households is free, but the supply to farms is metered and charged for. Where a supply serves both a house and farm, there is an allowance for the house, with any usage over and above charged for.

There are wide variations in charges for water among local authorities.
