IT has been a difficult week for lamb producers, with prices tumbling
French trend felt in prices

French importers flexed their muscles over the later days of last week to pull back prices paid for Irish lamb, as demand came under some pressure, with consumers buying less lamb, and very competitively priced New Zealand lamb in plentiful supply on the market.

Some improvement in the trade in France for the Irish supplies on Friday was short lived, with prices ending the week on 460 cents/kg (164p/lb).
